On the way to the bicentennial of independence, Guayaquil already has a garment inspired by the date and it will be presented tomorrow, Wednesday, at an event in the Arosemena passage, on the ground floor of the Municipal Palace, at 5:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a guayabera designed and made by the textile firm Orellana Hand Tailored<\/strong>, with two models, one for men and one for women, either in cotton or linen fabric. In both cases the garment is white.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

freddy orellana<\/em><\/strong>, president of the company, said that being the guayabera a garment that little by little became iconic among the people of Guayaquil, it was chosen for this initiative that has the endorsement of the Buenos Aires council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"In our environment we realized that Guayaquil needed a subtle, comfortable, comfortable garment, the guayabera was imposed little by little in the Guayaquil space, in the tropical climate," said Orellana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The historical journey of this garment will be exposed tomorrow in the first walk of the guayabera that will take place in the Arosemena passage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bicentennial guayabera model was conceived in accordance with principles such as freedom and patriotism, Orellana stressed, adding that for the first half of next year they expect a production of 20,000 garments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The masculine design has long sleeves, a three centimeter wide cotton collar and standard length, plus one centimeter of light blue and white embroidery from the upper margin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The front part has two strips of festoons, the one on the right side is 3.5 centimeters and is made up of eleven continuous folds. On the left side there are two pockets and a 5.5-centimeter festoon strip with five pleats and an intermediate plank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The buttons are light blue and square and are attached with white thread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The model for women has three-quarter sleeves with a side embroidery on the right sleeve and a cotton collar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like the men's design, the women's guayabera has a single row of pockets, on the left side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"We maintain the essence of the garment's comfort," added Orellana, while indicating that designing the garment lasted around four months, including the approval of the model by the Association of Artisans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cost of the garment will be $50 for cotton and $120 for linen. Those who are interested in acquiring the garment can make their reservations at the Guayaberas Orellana store, located in Escobedo between Clemente Ball\u00e9n and Aguirre, in the center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This family business has been making guayaberas since 1977 and is in charge of organizing the event that will take place tomorrow as part of the October agenda. (YO)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
