Parade for the 199 years of independence will be repeated at the beginning of the bicentennial of Guayaquil

With several activities, Guayaquil will celebrate its 199 years of independence and the festivities also constitute the preamble of the Bicentennial that will be celebrated in 2020.

On October 1, the agenda begins with a student proclamation that will leave from Plaza Centenario and will arrive at Malecón Simón Bolívar, along 9 de Octubre Avenue. 

About 1,100 people will participate in the activity, including baton players and members of the school's music band.

On Wednesday the 9th, the XXIV edition of the student parade will be held with eight allegorical floats that will display the following themes: bicentennial year, Montuvios del Litoral, Guayaquil Heart of the Homeland, Homage to foreign colonies and Latin America. 

This year two more floats are added to the parade, since in previous editions only 6 floats have traveled. 

The October 12 the parade will be replicated on Casuarina Avenue, in an unprecedented event. Will have 800 participants. 

At 7:00 p.m. on October 9, a laser light festival will be held for the first time on the Guayas River. 

The Guayaquil fair at the Convention Center, in its V edition, will take place from October 10 to 13. There will be 270 booths. 

The festivities will last until October 31 and include presentation of national and foreign artists, festivals and even a walk in the guayabera where the bicentennial guayabera will be presented. 

This activity will be at 5:00 p.m. on October 16 in the Arosemena passage and will have the participation of Industria Orellana. 

On October 19, at 4:00 p.m., the VII edition of the nautical parade with eight allegorical barges. (YO)
